A Bold, New, Black Voice Speaking Truth to Power Without Fear
hmmmm... in regards to Kanye's comments concerning Bush during the interview, I can see that he is much more thoughtful and politically mature than when he made the original statement. Unfortunately a lot of black and white people grabbed on to that statement as some sort of enlightened revolutionary mantra and are therefore disappointed by Kanye`s maturity: http://www.race-talk.org/?p=5871
I agree with Dr. Watkins. Kanye West should not have apologized. The Bush Administration displayed indifference to the black community through Katrina and policy. Bush is the one who needs to apologize. Bush should apologize for the government's ridiculously slow response to Hurricane Katrina. He should apologize for the lives lost. Bush should apologize for invading Iraq based on false pretenses, etc.
